Karivepaku Karam Podi

Basis Andhra style homemade product, the main ingredient in this dish is Curry leaves, very good for the health benefits, as our elders advised eat 4 to 5 curry leaves a day, it will protect you from all type of health problems. The other ingredients are Guntur red chillies, garlic, coriander seeds, and cumin seeds. The curry leaves are dried and fried  to make this dish.

As i spoken in my previous two Podi’s, Kobbari Karam Podi and Daniyala Karam Podi, in Andhra Karivepaku Karam Podi also holds the same popularity, it is also made in all stages of households. Again as i mentioned in my previous Podi’s, this also taste very good when mixed with hot white rice along with ghee, also goes good with Idli, Vada, dosa, Lemon rice, Tomato rice.

Coming to the product value, it is a basic homemade product, no colours, artificial preservatives and flavours are added to this product.

Ingredients for Karivepaku Karam Podi

  • Curry leaves
  • Red chillies
  • Jeera
  • Coriander seeds
  • Garlic
  • Oil
  • Salt

Preparation of Karivepaku Karam Podi

  • Firstly heat oil in a pad and fry curry leaves, red chillies, Jeera, coriander seeds separately.
  • Secondly as a process add red chillies to the grinder.
  • Later add curry leaves, coriander seeds, Jeera and ground the powder.
  • Next add garlic and salt and ground to a final product.


  • It can be stored in regular temperature and this stay for long time of around 6 months or more, it will not spoil.
