Green Chutney

Green Chutney – a pure coriander based chutney, it will replace coconut chutney while eating idli, dosa and vada. This chutney can be used for snacks also, health wise this chutney is very good, since lot of coriander has been used to make this chutney.

Green chutney

Ingredients for Green Chutney

  • Coriander 1 full bunch
  • Roasted channa dal 2 tsps
  • coconut 2 tsps
  • Green chillies 4 to 5
  • Salt to taste

For Tempering

  • Oil 1 tsp
  • Red chillies 2 No’s
  • Curry leaves 1 string
  • Mustard seeds ½ tsp
  • Cumin seeds ½ tsp
  • Urad dal 1 tsp

Preparation of Green Chutney

  • First clean and wash Coriander.
  • Cut coconut in to small pieces.
  • Add all the ingredients, coriander, roasted channa dal, coconut, green chillies and salt to a grinder and blend to a fine paste by adding water.
  • Later heat a shallow pan, add oil, red chillies, curry leaves, mustard seeds, cumin seeds, urad dal and fry till it pop up.
  • Then pour on to the green chutney.
  • This chutney goes good with Idli, dosa and vada.
