Carrot chutney

Ingredients for Carrot Chutney

  • Carrots 2 No’s
  • Green Chillies 2 No’s
  • Asafoetida 1 pinch
  • Bengal gram 1 tbsp
  • Black gram 2 tbsp
  • Grated coconut 2 tbsp
  • Tamarind 1 tbsp
  • Salt to taste
  • Curry leaves 1 string
  • Cumin seeds 1/4 tsp
  • Mustard seeds ¼ tsp

Preparation of Carrot Chutney

  • First grate the coconut and carrots.
  • Fry Bengal gram and Black gram in oil along with the asafoetida.
  • Mix all Coconut, carrot, grams, green chillies, tamarind, salt.
  • Then grind all the ingredients together.
  • In a fry pan add curry leaves, cumin seeds, mustard seeds and fry till it cracks.
  • Finally pour the same on to chutney.
  • This chutney is a good side dish for dosas ad idlis.
