Mint Chutney

Mint Chutney  can be made in different style, depend on their region. The chutney made with curd will be served mainly for deep fried snacks items, like tandoori chicken, chicken fry, paneer tikka etc.,

But when we speak about the mint chutney, were the ingredients are fried before preparing the chutney, this chutney can be used as a pickle. In South India this chutney is famous.

Mint chutney

Ingredients

  • Mint leaves (Pudina)1 bunch
  • Coriander leaves (Dhania) ½ bunch
  • Plain curd 100 ml
  • Green Chillies 2 No’s
  • Garlic 3-4 cloves
  • Ginger small piece
  • Lemon Juice 2 tsp
  • Cumin Powder (Jeera) roasted 1 tsp
  • Amchur (Dry Mango Powder) 1 tsp
  • Chaat masala 1 tsp
  • Rock Salt 1 tsp

Preparation

  • First clean and wash mint leaves and coriander leaves.
  • Take curd in to separate container and beat the curd till soft.
  • Add lemon juice, amchur powder, Rock salt, chat masala, Cumin powder and mix well with curd and keep aside.
  • Then add mint leaves, coriander leaves, green chillies, ginger, garlic to a mixtuer and grind well.
  • And add the mixture to the curd.
  • Finally it can be served with snacks items.

Mint chutney made without curd

Mint chutney

Ingredients

  • Mint leaves 1 bunch
  • Onion 1 No
  • Tomato 1 No
  • Garlic cloves 5 to 6 No’s
  • Red chillies 6 No’s
  • Tamarind 1 tbsp
  • Salt to taste
  • Curry leaves 1 spring
  • Cumin seeds ½ tsp
  • Mustard seeds ½ tsp
  • Oil 1 tbsp                                    

Preparation

  • First clean and wash Mint leaves.
  • Roughly chop onion and tomato.
  • Shallow fry mint leaves, onion, tomato, red chillies separately and keep aside.
  • Know first grind red chillies, then add tamarind and grind for some time, later add onion and garlic for mixtuer and grind. Finally add tomato and salt and grind well till it become fine paste.
  • Note, follow the procedure of grinding the ingredients step by step, don’t mix the tomato in the earlier so the other ingredients will not grind well.
  • Finally heat oil in a fry pan add curry leaves, cumin seeds and mustard seeds and fry in low flame till it is cracked.
  • Then pour the same on the top of mint chutney.
