Mango Rice – food is precooked in this recipe, and added to the mixture. The mango is grated and mixed with the rice. It can be store for long time.

Mango Rice

Ingredients for Mango Rice

  • Rice ½ kg
  • Green mangoes 4-5 No’s
  • Green chillies 3 to 4
  • Coconut grated 200 gms
  • Gingili oil 2 tbsp
  • Mustard seeds 1 tsp
  • Cumin seeds 1 tsp
  • Black gram 1 tbsp
  • Curry leaves 1 strip
  • Turmeric powder ¼ tsp
  • Salt to taste
  • Water as require for cooking rice

Preparation of Mango Rice

  • First boil water in a cooking vessel.
  • Clean the rice and put in to boiling water.
  • Once the rice is done, drain the rice to other container and let it cool.
  • Then add turmeric powder and gingili oil. Mix well.
  • Grind the mangoes, add grind cumin seeds, slit chillies, salt, coconut grated and mix well.
  • Then add to the cooked rice.
  • Fry the mustard seeds, black gram, curry leaves and add to the rice and mix well.
