Mango Coconut Chutney

Mango Coconut Chutney – traditional Andhra style chutney prepared in a typical Andhra Cuisine. A seasonal  fruit,  raw mango been used for this dish with fresh coconut and hot red chillies. Taste some were like sour and spicy.

Mango Coconut Chutney

Ingredients for Mango Coconut Chutney

  • Mangoes 2 No’s medium size
  • Shredded fresh coconut 150 gms
  • Oil 1 tbsp
  • Fenugreek ½ tsp (optional)
  • Garlic cloves 3-4 No’s
  • Red chillies 4 to 5
  • Coriander seeds 1 tbsp
  • Turmeric powder ¼ tsp
  • Salt to taste
  • Oil 2 tbsp

Ingredients for tempering

  • Red chillies (deseed) 2 No’s
  • Curry leaves 1 string
  • Mustard seeds
  • Urad dal 1 tsp
  • Asafoetida powder ¼ tsp (optional)

Preparation

  • Peel off the mango skin and cut into small pieces.
  • Heat oil and fry garlic, fenugreek, red chillies, coriander seeds and grind to geather all the spices.
  • Later add coconut and raw mango and and grind futher and keep aside.
  • Know heat oil in a pan for tempering, add oil, mustard seeds, urad dal, and curry leaves, asafoetida and redchllies. Till it fry.
  • Then add the seasoning to the ground mango and coconut chutney.
  • Serves better with hot white rice and curd rice.
